If you are using dry shampoo that comes in the aerosol form you have to part your hair into sections add spray into the roots holding the bottle 30-40 cm away from your hair. Holding the can far enough is a very essential part of the process because the shampoo in liquid form in the can but it needs that second or 2 to transform into dry powder before it hits your hair. So if you hold the can too close the dry shampoo will still be a little wet and that defeats the purpose and doesn’t deliver the results you expect. If you are using the powder version just apply to roots and massage your hair to disperse the powder evenly. After applying dry shampoo you have brush your hair to remove any excess powder.

Dry shampoo can be used on various occasions it’s an obvious choice for lazy days and when your hair just needs a little boost. It’s a good idea to use dry shampoo the night before so that you wake up with extra volume in your hair. It can be used on fresh clean hair to add volume and texture. It’s a great way to add more grip to your hair when creating an updo and to maintain those bobby pins in place. You can even use it on wet hair and it will work as mousse.

Dry shampoo works by soaking up the oils in your hair and making your hair look clean and non-greasy but you should keep in mind that while those oils are soaked up and your hair looks clean those oils and starch is still sitting in your hair may not feel as clean as it looks.

You can use dry shampoo as often as you want but keep in mind it’s not a true alternative to normal shampoo. Over time the dry powder will accumulate and form clumps which is only not cute. Dry shampoo can be quite drying on the scalp and your hair so it’s recommended to use it every day if you have a dry and sensitive scalp or your hair tends to be dry.

How To Make Dry Shampoo At Home


Ingredients:
  • Arrowroot powder
  • Corn starch
  • A bit of cocoa powder (optional)
  • Makeup brush for application
To make dry shampoo at home just use some corn starch or you can also use arrowroot powder keep it in a sealed container and apply to your hair using a clean makeup brush if you have dark hair and want to avoid white residue on your hair you can add a little of cocoa powder to your starch.
