EASY LOW CARB KETO ALFREDO SAUCE RECIPE – GLUTEN FREE

This low Carb Keto Alfredo sauce recipe is easy to make just 10 minutes and 4 common ingredients. It will be your favorite garlic Parmesan cream sauce.
I was the world’s pickiest eater as a child. There were literally just two foods I couldn’t get enough of eggs that hasn’t changed and Fettuccine Alfredo. Since I started eating low Carb and gluten-free I haven’t had fettuccine noodles in a long while but I do have an easy Low Carb Keto Alfredo sauce recipe that I make all the time.

The great thing about this easy Alfredo sauce is that it’s naturally Low Carb and Keto without any unusual ingredients. And everyone will love it even if they are not following a Low Carb diet it pairs just fine with regular pasta for those that eat it, but for me I stick with gluten free and Keto options.

The most common way that I use Low Carb Alfredo sauce is over zoodles I actually posted a different Zucchini Noodles Alfredo recipe last summer that one had a lighter sauce made by combining cream and unsweetened almond milk in addition to the Parmesan cheese it’s delicious and still one of my favorites but sometimes I crave something richer.

When I want a garlic Parmesan cream sauce that’s extra creamy I make this easy Alfredo sauce instead it tastes so rich and indulgent but still without the carbs.

And if you are Keto you will like this version better since there is no arrowroot powder or other thickener it thickens naturally mostly just from the cheese because this is Alfredo sauce with heavy cream it reduces naturally and reaches the right consistency without a thickening agent.

A CREAMY GARLIC ALFREDO SAUCE RECIPE

I absolutely love garlic so my Keto Alfredo sauce recipe has lots and lots of garlic if you are a garlic lover like me you will love it and I’m pretty sure that you can’t have the best Alfredo sauce without plenty of garlic!

Have you ever heard that joke? “The only recipe that uses one clove of garlic is how to prepare one clove of garlic. Even then, use two.” I saw it on Facebook somewhere and have no idea who originally said it, but that’s totally me!

So my garlic Parmesan cream sauce has six cloves of garlic in it feel free to reduce the amount if you are not as much of a fan as I am.

SEASONING FOR EASY ALFREDO SAUCE

Traditional Alfredo sauce typically has nutmeg in it but I kept it as an optional ingredient to keep it simple I noticed some people were surprised by this when I shared the recipe with them but it’s actually a very common component in Alfredo sauce recipes.

Lately I have been making spices optional in recipes when I can not because I don’t use them liberally myself, but just to offer flexibility when possible I do recommend the nutmeg for that familiar flavor in your Keto Alfredo sauce even if you are not expecting it, it fits in amazingly well!

Speaking of flavor you might want to add more salt and pepper at the end to your taste you probably need more than you think!

When adding salt keep in mind that the Low Carb Alfredo sauce will be more concentrated when tasting it plain it will mellow out when you mix it with other ingredients especially lightly sweet veggies like zucchini noodles. For this reason I recommend adding a little more salt than you might think is needed.

HOW TO MAKE ALFREDO SAUCE WITH HEAVY CREAM

So how to make Alfredo sauce with heavy cream? It’s incredibly easy you only need four ingredients and ten minutes!

I didn’t include nutmeg in the ingredient count, because it’s optional. Salt and pepper are also excluded by convention everyone has those around, right?

Start by sauteing minced garlic in some butter add heavy cream, and simmer for five minutes till the volume reduces by about one third it will get thicker as this happens.

For the fastest results choose a larger saucepan the more surface area you have the less time it will take!

The last step is to add the Parmesan cheese reduce heat to low and add the cheese whisking constantly till smooth you can add the nutmeg, sea salt and black pepper to taste at the end.

Viola! That is how to make the best easy Alfredo sauce recipe!

As for consistency you can adjust it to your liking if it’s too thick you can thin it out with more cream if it’s too thin add more cheese.

HOW TO STORE ALFREDO SAUCE IN THE FRIDGE

Once the Keto Alfredo sauce is ready, you can serve it immediately it goes well with veggies especially spaghetti squash or even in a casserole but if you don’t plan to use it right away that’s fine!

You can easily prepare Low Carb Alfredo sauce in advance and store it in the fridge it will keep for about a week.

Just reheat on the stove when you are ready to use it Microwaving can also work but use Low to Medium power to avoid separation. It can split if it goes through a rapid temperature change.

Like any Parmesan cream sauce this one tends to thicken as it sits if this happens you can always thin it out with a little more cream as needed it’s super simple to adjust the thickness to your liking!

CAN YOU FREEZE ALFREDO SAUCE?

What if you want to keep it for longer? Can you freeze Alfredo sauce? Yes you can as long as you do it the right way!

There are 2 main tips for how to freeze Alfredo sauce first make sure that it’s airtight I recommend plastic freezer bags lay them flat and make sure there is no air remaining in there.

Label them with a Sharpie so that you know how old they are using them within a few months is best from a taste standpoint, though they will still be safe to eat beyond that.

The second part of successfully freezing Parmesan cream sauce is how you thaw it do it over low to medium heat on the stove and stir constantly, to avoid curdling just like after refrigeration the key is not to shock it with a sudden temperature change.

So now you know you can enjoy this easy Alfredo sauce recipe immediately refrigerate or freeze it. You have no excuse not to give it a try and once you taste how delicious it is I think you will be glad you did!

I’m always looking for more ideas for how to use it what are your favorite uses for an easy Alfredo sauce like this?
